On June 10, the third Taklamakan Desert Forum and Africa Green Great Wall Construction Technology Training Course was held in Korla, Xinjiang. 1. Current situation: Plants will die in large areas during severe drought periods

2. Existing technology: Drip irrigation technology is widely used in arid areas, resulting in a decrease in groundwater levels. In addition, drip irrigation requires significant costs such as stringing, drilling wells, laying pipelines, watering, electricity consumption, and pipeline maintenance. After evaporation of drip irrigation water, the saline alkali will remain and eventually become Alkali soil.

The traditional afforestation method involves planting seeds in a nursery, then transplanting the seedlings to barren mountains and continuously watering them. The drawbacks are: 1. The nursery occupies a large amount of fertile land; 2. Transplantation is not possible in areas without water sources.

    Trees planted in many places do not grow well due to drought.

In order to solve the above problems, Zhao Shuhai, the general manager of our company, invented "a device to ensure plant survival", abbreviated as "Shubao". In 2016, a patent was applied for, and the product was formed in July 2017. After 5 years of research, experimentation, and innovation, the existing technology problems were solved.

"Shubao" includes water storage buckets, mesh covers, funnels, filter screens, check valves, etc. The usage method and principle are: burying "Shubao" at the roots of plants, collecting rainwater, and evaporating water from the net cover to the soil during drought, maintaining soil moisture, maintaining plant survival, and promoting plant growth. After filling the water storage tank with water, it can maintain an evaporation time of 2-5 months.

In the first experiment in July 2017, a tree with severe drought was selected and installed on the side of the salt lake in Yuncheng, Shanxi Province. A month later, the effect was obvious.

The use of "Shu Bao" in afforestation on barren mountains is greatly different from that of unused ones.

The experiment in the Kubuqi Desert of Inner Mongolia showed significant results.

The experiment on the Gobi Desert in Xinjiang has also been successful.

The Gobi Desert Greening Project in Xinjiang has installed a "Shu Bao", and only the trees installed with "Shu Bao" are alive.

Shubao has created a new model of waterless afforestation in all seasons by burying seeds next to Shubao and waiting for rain. After the rain, the seeds germinate, and "Shu Bao" ensures survival.

Planting wheat or grass seeds around the rainwater harvesting film will eventually turn into grass squares.

4. Product. Shubao "has been transformed into a series of products for different purposes, which can be widely used in afforestation of barren mountains, desert management, landscaping, ecological restoration of mines, fruit tree cultivation, fruit and vegetable cultivation, family flower cultivation, etc., with a huge market demand.

5. Advantages. Two years ago, the small seedlings transplanted from the drip irrigation belt to the side of "Shubao" in the desert were left unattended and thriving, while almost all the small seedlings on the drip irrigation belt died young.

The trees planted in the desert with "Shubao" have survived without anyone managing them for two years.

After 5 years of installing 'Shu Bao' in the desert camphor pine, it was observed in April 2023 that its growth was significantly different from that of the comparison tree.
